Integra Protocol
Integra Protocol is a simple and powerful set of nested protocols designed to alleviate unwanted emotional states, resolve inner conflict, and dissolve inner turmoil.
Through a guided process of direct prompting, the client is led to integrate not only the problematic emotion but also the conflicting identities that underlie and give rise to the emotion.
This process of resolving conflicting identities at the deepest level results in the rapid transformation of the beliefs and structures that cause inner conflict and turmoil. As a result, changes are often profound and lasting.
Clients experience favorable results and the ability to implement complementary actions, often after just one 60-minute session.
The Premise
Integra Protocol works on the premise that negative emotional states and inner conflict are most often the result of identities with opposing goals. An identity here simply signifies a role paired with a goal. For instance, someone identified as a shy person will likely have a goal to avoid attention. This goal—“to avoid attention”—isn’t a problem until the person enters a situation in which that goal is threatened, i.e., the person is asked to give a speech or wants to ask someone out on a date. In response to the threatened goal, the person would likely experience overpowering fear or, at the very least, inner conflict.
These identities are often created as a protective mechanism in response to an unpleasant experience.
Our shy person may have “shown off” as a child and been ridiculed. In order to avoid the pain of that embarrassment happening again, the identity of a shy person develops with the goal “to avoid attention.”
These identities pile up and become a web of unconscious goals and tensions that activate in certain situations and cause suffering when they come into conflict.
How Integra Protocol Works
Integra Protocol works to resolve these conflicts by making them conscious. As each element of the identity is brought to awareness and experienced, it ceases to be an unconscious program and discrete identity. Through the process of understanding and experiencing the identity subjectively, it is integrated into the greater sense of self.
Integra Protocol is not a slow process of getting to know the part in question. It is a process that exposes the core emotions, conflicts, beliefs, and goals of each identity and resolves them one by one until the participant reaches a state of resolution, or in some cases, de-identified consciousness or direct experience.
This experience can have a profound impact on the state and point of view of the participant. Participants are led through a process of expressing and grounding their experience, insights, new narratives, and how they will move forward in their lives.
A Trauma-Informed Approach
A key aspect of the approach employed in Integra Protocol is the way in which it addresses trauma and traumatic experiences. With Integra Protocol, it is possible to achieve very favorable results without requiring the participant to go back into the experience or retell the story. If a participant is currently negatively affected by an experience that happened in the past, Integra Protocol starts with the present emotional charge and nothing more. This allows for progressive integration; the subconscious is not forced or prodded to give up more than it is already presenting.
Who Is It For?
Training in this protocol is currently being offered to credentialed coaches and therapists for use in private practice. Individuals who are not yet credentialed may take the course for personal use and to serve consenting family and friends.
Who Does It Best Serve?
Integra Protocol serves most effectively people who are committed to their own growth and creating changes in their lives. Proactive and goal-oriented clients are generally easier to process and often experience greater results. However, anyone who truly wants change will likely be served by it.
Who Is It Unlikely to Serve?
Clients without the desire to change their experience or behavior. Integra Protocol works best with those who are already engaged in their journey of growth and recovery. It requires active engagement in the process and can be sabotaged if participants are unable to truthfully express what is arising for them.
